Mityana -Mubende Road is Another Phenomenon We Need to Address! -Ssekimpi

As we prepare to celebrate Easter Sunday and the accompanying holidays, my mind stretches out to those travelling from Kampala to the Tourist City of Fort Portal and the environ.. Suffice to mention the intervening towns of Mubende, Nabingola, Kyegegwa, Kakabara, Kyenjojo, to mention but a few. Let us quickly recall Christmas time last year 2024.

At Kiganda or thereabout, the road was impassable for some hours due to the unfinished road works. Four months on, the situation is not any better, if not worse, due to the current “rainy” season. Inverted commas are emphasised due to climate change, another phenomenon we need to address!

Back to the grossly delayed road works. What image do we give our tourists heading to the Tourist City? How about the costs to the Ugandan motorists, especially the taxi, read drone, drivers. How about patients being transported, even in ambulances.

Are we sure this is not a matter of National Importance?
