Banyakyaka Tournament Kicks off With Vibe in Kyegegwa District

In a bid to celebrate the Banyakyaka — Tooro culture and identity, sportsmen have come together for the highly anticipated Banyakyaka Tournament, proudly organized by Daliet Events.

The tournament kicked off on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, with over ten teams from all corners of Kyegegwa District registered and actively participating in this debut edition.

The tournament organizer, Mr. Dan Msoil, expressed his pleasure at the teams’ commitment and their love for the game. He praised the spirit of competition and the unity it brings to the sport.

I’m very excited to see you in this tournament. We’ll be playing both home and away, so let’s approach every match with discipline and a clear vision for the game. Let’s give it our all!

The tournament champion will walk away with UGX 3 million, while the second-place team will receive UGX 1.5 million. The third and fourth teams will earn UGX 500,000 and UGX 200,000 respectively. More than just a competition, the Banyakyaka Tournament aims to unite the Banyakyaka people, celebrate Tooro culture, nurture local talent, and promote professional sport within Kyegegwa District. The grand finale will take place at Humura Playground, featuring a lineup of local and national entertainment artists to crown the celebration.
