Ugandan music star Catherine Kusasira has openly rejected fellow singer Sophie Nantongo’s recent challenge for a musical battle, instead throwing down her own bold counter — bring an entire team of top female artists if you dare.
Sophie Nantongo had earlier expressed her readiness to face off with Kusasira in a friendly musical showdown, stating she was available “whenever Kusasira is ready.” However, Kusasira was quick to dismiss the idea of a one-on-one clash, claiming such a battle would be too small for her stature in the music industry.
“If I am to battle with any female artist, I need to pile them as a bunch and take them on,” Kusasira remarked. “Sophie should collect Maureen Nantume, Stecia Mayanja, Karole Kasita, Sheebah, Winnie Nwagi, and Spice Diana and come.”

The “Enkola ya Taxi” hitmaker didn’t stop there. She doubled down on her confidence, declaring that her status in Uganda’s music scene puts her in a class of her own — one that only artists like Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, or Bobi Wine can match.
“She is just a cockroach. A cockroach doesn’t chase a hen,” Kusasira said in a scathing statement aimed at Nantongo. “If it’s a house, I’m self-contained. My level now battles with artists such as Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, and Bobi Wine.”
Kusasira, known for her powerful ballads and commanding stage presence, also took the opportunity to boast about her vocal prowess and live performance abilities, claiming they are far superior to Sophie Nantongo’s.

With tensions heating up and egos clashing, fans are left wondering: will Nantongo rise to the challenge and rally her all-star team — or will Kusasira’s bold words go untested?
