Hon. Kafuuzi Jackson Calls for Peaceful NRM Elections in Kyegegwa: “Let Us Come Together as One Family”

By Alex Don

Kyegegwa, Uganda – As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) gears up for district internal elections this Friday, the Deputy Attorney General of Uganda and Member of Parliament for Kyaka South, Hon. Kafuuzi Jackson Karugaba, has made a heartfelt appeal for peace, unity, and active participation.

Speaking to enthusiastic supporters and party members in Kyegegwa District, Hon. Kafuuzi urged all NRM structures and voters to embrace a spirit of calm and cooperation throughout the electoral process.

Let us come together as one family, putting aside differences and embracing peace, he said. Elections are like the rains that nourish the soil—they help us grow stronger and better. But just as rain must fall gently to avoid washing away the plants, our elections must be peaceful and respectful.

His message resonated across Kyaka South and beyond, emphasizing that the strength of both the party and the community lies not just in who gets elected but in how people treat one another during the process.

The real victory, Hon. Kafuuzi stressed, is when we finish these elections with even more unity than we started. After the votes are counted, we remain neighbors, friends, and one community.

Calling for mass participation, Hon. Kafuuzi encouraged all NRM members to take part in shaping the party’s leadership. He emphasized that capable, grassroots-oriented leaders are vital to the party’s future.

Leadership is about integrity, commitment, and service—not just academic papers, he noted. The NRM constitution doesn’t demand degrees; it demands dedication.

He also used the platform to call for the continued support of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, urging Kyegegwa residents to remain steadfast in their loyalty to the party and its vision for Uganda.

We must continue rallying behind our President. His leadership has brought Peace, development and stability. Let us not lose that momentum, Hon. Kafuuzi said.

As Friday’s elections approach, the Deputy Attorney General’s message is clear: a united, respectful, and peaceful electoral process is not only a party requirement but a community responsibility.

Together, we can build a stronger Kyaka South, a better Kyegegwa, and a more prosperous Uganda, he concluded.
