The project targets all 36 Local Councils one (LC1s) in Kigambo Sub-County, with each LC-based women’s group promised five piglets—four (4) females and one (1) male—to help them start piggery businesses for economic development.

Empowering women is central to building strong communities,” said Hon. Gaudy. “Each group will receive five piglets to start their journey toward financial independence. This is a long-term project that will benefit families, create jobs, and reduce poverty.

So far, seven groups have already received their piglets, and each has been guided to construct proper pig shelters to ensure the pigs are well kept.

To support the initiative, Hon. Gaudy assigned a veterinary officer, Dr. Isaac, who educated the beneficiaries on modern piggery practices, health management, and feeding routines.

Dr. Isaac explained the economic potential of the project:
If each of the four female pigs gives birth twice a year, producing 10 piglets each time, and each piglet is sold at UGX 200,000, a group can earn up to UGX 16 million annually. This project is not just about farming—it’s a viable business opportunity.

In addition to launching the piggery initiative, Hon. Gaudy also fulfilled previous pledges. She delivered 100 cocoa seedlings to the Boda-Boda group in Magoma and handed over a labor and delivery bed to the Magoma Women’s Group.

Her Political Assistant encouraged the women to stay committed and promised further rewards:
We shall closely monitor the groups. The best-performing group after one year will receive an additional five piglets. Let us support Hon. Gaudy, who is already delivering even before being elected.
