Kiruhura District, Uganda – The National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, today presided over the verification of the NRM party register during a village Baraza held in Rwakitura Cell, Nshwerenkye Parish, Kiruhura District.
The exercise is part of a nationwide effort to update and authenticate the party’s membership register ahead of the NRM internal elections. The President’s presence underlined the importance the party places on transparency, grassroots involvement, and strengthening internal democracy.

In addition to overseeing the verification exercise, President Museveni is expected to witness the voting process for the NRM LC1 flag bearer and other village-level structures.
The Party Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi, area Members of Parliament, and several other party officials were also in attendance to ensure smooth and credible processes.

Today’s activities are part of a coordinated nationwide initiative, with similar events taking place across all 72,000 NRM polling stations countrywide.
The ongoing verification and internal elections reflect the NRM’s commitment to democratic principles and its resolve to maintain robust grassroots structures ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
