Ugandan singer Lady Mariam, famously remembered for her chart-topping hit Tindatine, has opened up about her relationship preferences and future plans, leaving fans both amused and curious.

In a candid interview, the songbird revealed she is currently single but very selective about who she would consider dating. According to Mariam, wealth and respect top her list of requirements in a potential partner.

I am single and searching, but I have no interest in dating a poor man. My father was poor. Why would I marry a poor man again? Impossible, she said. With a smile, she jokingly added, I am waiting for Bill Gates, but he isn’t coming.

Mariam further explained that her dream partner should ideally live abroad, saying she doesn’t want unnecessary interference or pressure in her personal life. Still, she emphasized that beyond financial status, respect is a non-negotiable quality.

Money is important, yes, but I also need a man who is respectful and protective. That is why I always make sure to dress decently, because I want him to find me responsible, she noted.

Away from her personal life, Lady Mariam also shared exciting news with her fans. She confirmed that she is preparing a mega concert next year to mark 20 years in the music industry, a celebration that promises to take her supporters down memory lane with her greatest hits.
