The Senior Presidential Advisor on Mobilisation for the Rwenzori region, Mishac Kawamara, today joined the people of Tooro in commemorating the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
The celebrations, held in Fort Portal Tourism City, brought together cultural leaders, government officials, dignitaries, and thousands of subjects of the Tooro Kingdom to honor three decades of King Oyo’s reign The event highlighted the resilience, unity, and cultural heritage of the kingdom, which has remained a symbol of pride for the people of Tooro and the entire Rwenzori region.
Speaking on the sidelines of the celebrations, Kawamara noted that His Majesty’s leadership continues to inspire not only the people of Tooro but also the wider Ugandan community. He emphasized the importance of cultural institutions in fostering unity, development, and social cohesion.
The 30th Coronation Anniversary also served as a moment of reflection on King Oyo’s journey since ascending the throne as the world’s youngest monarch and the progress the kingdom has made under his stewardship
Kawamara’s attendance reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with cultural institutions to promote development, peace, and prosperity across the Rwenzori region.
