Omukama Oyo Reaffirms Tooro Kingdom’s Commitment to Protecting People’s Land Rights

In a strong reaffirmation of his commitment to the people of Tooro, His Majesty Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV has emphasized that Kingdom land belongs to the people of Tooro and no individual has the authority to displace them.

The Omukama’s message comes at a time when the Kingdom is working to ensure that all land matters are handled transparently and in the best interest of its citizens. He called upon all individuals currently occupying Kingdom land to work closely with the Tooro Kingdom Land Board to formalize their tenure and ensure security of ownership.

No individual has the authority to displace the people of Tooro from Kingdom land. It is imperative to recognize that Kingdom land rightfully belongs to the people, said His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
