Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Mr. Mishac Kawamara has urged the people of the Rwenzori region to deliver overwhelming support up to 99% for H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the forthcoming elections, emphasizing that sustained peace and development depend on continued trust in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.
Addressing a community mobilization meeting in Kabarole District, Mr. Kawamara commended residents for their long-standing loyalty to the NRM and applauded their role in maintaining stability and supporting government programs. He noted that the Rwenzori region has undergone remarkable transformation under President Museveni’s leadership, with major progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
The Rwenzori region has moved from a history of instability to becoming a beacon of peace and progress under President Museveni. Let us unite and give him 99% support so that we continue building on these achievements, said Mr. Kawamara.

He further encouraged local leaders, youth, and women groups to intensify mobilization efforts and ensure that government empowerment programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga reach their intended beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
Mr. Kawamara reaffirmed government’s commitment to transforming the Rwenzori region into a hub of industrial growth and agricultural productivity, stressing that the NRM remains focused on creating jobs, empowering families, and securing prosperity for all Ugandans.
