The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, today inspected ongoing works at the Hoima City Stadium, a key sports infrastructure project expected to boost talent development and regional growth.
During the visit, Gen Muhoozi assessed the construction progress, interacted with site engineers, and reviewed implementation timelines. He expressed satisfaction with the milestones already achieved and emphasized the importance of delivering a modern facility capable of hosting national and regional sports events.
The Hoima City Stadium project is part of broader government initiatives to expand sports infrastructure, promote youth participation in athletics, and enhance community recreation facilities. The facility is also expected to contribute to sports tourism and provide a platform for nurturing new talent in Bunyoro and surrounding regions.
Local leaders welcomed the CDF’s visit, noting that his involvement demonstrates government commitment to ensuring timely completion of strategic development projects.
Once completed, the stadium will serve as a major sporting hub, giving young people access to improved training grounds and creating opportunities for sports-based economic growth in the region.
