Kyegegwa District — The Member of Parliament for Kyaka Central Constituency, Hon. Tom Bright Amooti has pledged to prioritise community sensitisation through civic education as he seeks a second term in office.
Hon. Amooti said strengthening civic education will empower residents with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities, improve public participation, and enhance accountability in the implementation of government programmes. He noted that when citizens are well informed, they are better placed to benefit from development initiatives and contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes.
The legislator also encouraged the people of Kyaka Central to fully embrace and support government programs, particularly those aimed at improving household incomes, service delivery, and social welfare. He emphasized that community ownership and participation are essential for the success and sustainability of these initiatives.
As part of his second-term agenda, Hon. Amooti reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with local leaders, civil society, and government agencies to ensure that development programs reach all sections of the constituency.
Civic education is key to empowering our people to understand the government and actively participate in building a better Kyaka Central, Hon. Amooti said.
