The Senior Presidential Advisor on Mobilization for the Rwenzori and Tooro sub-regions, Kawamara Mishac, has called for heightened but preventive security measures to ensure peace and stability during upcoming political activities.

Reflecting on the 2021 election period, Kawamara noted that the country experienced incidents of violence in which security personnel, National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders, and supporters were attacked and beaten on the streets. He emphasized that such scenes should not be allowed to repeat themselves.

Kawamara stressed that security agencies must act early and responsibly to safeguard lives and property, underscoring the importance of prevention over reaction. He explained that timely precautions can help avoid unnecessary chaos and protect the democratic process.

Precaution is better than cure. It is always better to prevent chaos than to wait for it to happen, Kawamara Mishac said.

He further urged political leaders, supporters, and the general public to cooperate with security agencies and embrace peaceful engagement, noting that stability is essential for development and national unity.
