Rwakitura, Uganda — A delegation from Mbale Industrial Park, led by Ms. Lucy Zhang paid a courtesy visit to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Maama Janet Museveni at their Rwakitura country home, where they briefed them on the progress of the industrial park and unveiled plans for further expansion.
During the meeting, the team presented updates on ongoing investments, production milestones, and employment opportunities created by the industrial park. They also expressed interest in establishing another industrial park, citing Uganda’s favorable investment climate and growing industrial demand.
President Museveni warmly welcomed the proposal, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting industrialization as a key driver of economic transformation. He assured the investors of continued government backing, particularly in infrastructure development, energy supply, and policy stability.
The growth of industrial parks is central to our strategy of job creation and value addition, and the government will fully support serious investors, President Museveni said.
The visit underscores Uganda’s continued appeal to foreign and local investors and the government’s focus on expanding industrial capacity to accelerate economic growth and employment creation.
