President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged leaders from Kasese District to prioritize development initiatives, emphasizing the need for informed and supportive representation in Parliament. The president made the remarks while addressing residents during his outreach in the region.
Museveni noted that certain government programs and infrastructure investments continue to face delays because some legislators do not fully understand operational procedures and national priorities.
Some projects delay because you send to Parliament people who do not understand how we operate. They spend time pushing for salary increments instead of supporting the construction of roads, President Museveni said.

He further highlighted that significant progress has already been achieved, especially in road connectivity. The extension of tarmac roads into Kasese, he said, has stimulated local business and eased movement of goods and services across communities.
However, the President emphasized that Kasese still needs additional road construction equipment and increased district funding to sustain and expand infrastructure development. He pledged that the government will continue channeling resources to support major economic drivers, including agriculture, tourism, and trade.
Residents welcomed the President’s message, expressing optimism that improved road access will enhance service delivery, boost local investment, and strengthen linkages with the rest of the country.
As the region gears up for future projects, leaders and community members were reminded about their role in ensuring accountability, unity, and strategic planning for sustainable progress.
