President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held his second rally of the day in Bunyangabu District, engaging NRM leaders and residents on the gains achieved over the past four decades. He emphasized peace as one of the most significant achievements delivered by the NRM government, noting that stability has enabled Ugandans to live meaningful and productive lives.
During his address, the President highlighted peace as the foundation of national transformation.
I thank God that a child can be born, grow, study, marry, and raise a family in a peaceful country. This is one of the greatest fruits of the NRM struggle, he said.

Museveni pointed out that Uganda’s development journey can clearly be seen through expanded infrastructure. He cited roads, electricity access, clean water, telecommunication services, railway improvement and increased internet access as evidence of nationwide progress.
The President also acknowledged delays in completing the Mityana–Mubende–Fort Portal road but attributed them to scattered planning in previous budgeting cycles. He noted that current leaders now understand prioritisation and assured the residents that the road will be completed.
He expressed satisfaction that Bunyangabu alone has eight government secondary schools, a major shift from 1961 when Uganda had only six A’level schools countrywide. He said this education progress reflects how far the country has advanced in expanding opportunities for learners.
Residents welcomed the message, saying continued investment in education, infrastructure, and peace gives the district a strong foundation for future development.
