The President reminded residents that before the NRM came to power, Uganda was trapped in a cycle of conflict, with wars erupting almost every decade. He noted that the last 40 years of relative peace have provided a firm foundation for development, stability, and economic growth across the country.

Turning to service delivery, the President highlighted significant progress in access to clean and safe water in Kalungu, which now stands at 93 percent. He said government efforts are now shifting towards irrigation to support agriculture and boost household incomes, especially in the face of climate change.
Museveni also underscored the importance of commercial agriculture, citing bananas and coffee as key drivers of wealth creation. He explained that well-managed banana plantations can yield up to 53 tonnes per hectare, while national coffee production has risen from about three million to nearly ten million 60-kilogramme bags annually.
The President urged the people of Kalungu to continue supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM), arguing that the party’s focus on peace, infrastructure, agriculture, and service delivery remains key to sustaining Uganda’s development journey
