Today, the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) and the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) initiative proudly participated in the prestigious Rocco Paco Women in Business event, held at Bomah Hotel in Gulu, Acholi sub-region.
This influential gathering brought together women entrepreneurs, business leaders, development partners, and government representatives to celebrate, learn, and explore pathways to economic empowerment for women. As two flagship government initiatives focused on uplifting women through enterprise and financial inclusion, UWEP and GROW stood at the forefront—demonstrating how strategic support and targeted interventions can unlock real growth opportunities for women across Uganda.

The teams showcased inspiring success stories from women-led enterprises that have flourished under the programs, highlighting the impact of access to affordable credit, skills development, and business mentorship. Participants engaged in interactive exhibitions, panel discussions, and networking sessions, all aimed at strengthening the ecosystem for women in business.
“Women are not just beneficiaries—they are drivers of transformation in their communities,” said one of the program leads. “Through UWEP and GROW, we’re seeing a new wave of empowered, resilient women entrepreneurs rise and reshape the future.”
The event marks another step forward in the collective journey toward inclusive economic growth and gender equality. UWEP and GROW remain committed to creating a more enabling environment for women entrepreneurs to thrive, scale their businesses, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
