Bobi Wine Condemns Parliamentary Corruption

The People Power movement held a press conference Tuesday afternoon at their headquarters in Makerere Kavule, highlighting a number of critical national issues and celebrating recent student electoral victories.

Leaders of the movement accused Parliament of endemic corruption, claiming some legislators received UGX 100 million bribes to pass the Coffee Bill and approve the classified budget.

They also condemned the continued detention of political prisoners and reported cases of enforced disappearances involving their supporters and activists. The leadership called for accountability and the immediate release of all political detainees.

In a separate address, the institutions wing was congratulated for its recent triumphs in guild elections at Muteesa I Royal University, Kyambogo University, and Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

The event also marked the official welcoming of new members from various political parties who joined the movement. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to a unified, people-centered struggle for change.
