URDT, which operates in 20 districts and 4 refugee camps, provides training in practical fields such as pig and fish farming, poultry, welding, domestic electricity, hairdressing, brick laying, tree nursery operations, and bakery. Students undergo a 3-month training program where they are equipped with both vocational and soft skills, verified by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) upon completion.

Joel Magoba, the District Speaker representing LCV Chairperson Hon. Byamukama Kisoke, acknowledged URDT’s critical role in transforming lives in the District.

This initiative aligns well with the NRM ideology, which emphasizes job creation over job seeking, Magoba stated. URDT is equipping our youth to become self-reliant and impactful in their communities.
