The Electoral Commission has officially released the campaign period schedule for all categories of elective positions ahead of Uganda’s highly anticipated 2026 General Elections.
According to the roadmap, candidates will have specific timelines to carry out campaign activities at various levels—Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government. These timelines are designed to ensure fairness, order, and equal opportunity for all contenders.
- Official Campaign Periods
Presidential Campaigns:
From 4th October 2025 to 12th January 2026
Parliamentary Campaigns:
From 23rd September 2025 to 12th January 2026
Local Government Campaigns:
From 13th September 2025 to 12th January 2026
The Commission urged all aspirants to strictly adhere to these dates and conduct their campaigns in a peaceful, lawful, and inclusive manner.
The Electoral Commission calls upon all candidates and their supporters to respect the set guidelines to ensure a credible, transparent, and peaceful electoral process, a statement from the EC read.
With the campaign windows now officially set, political aspirants are expected to intensify grassroots mobilization, unveil their manifestos, and engage with voters across the country.
As the clock ticks toward January 2026, Ugandans are encouraged to remain informed, involved, and participate actively in shaping the future of their leadership through the power of their vote.
